Her desire to make it easier to find safe, effective and luxurious skincare was further spurred by the difficulty of deciphering beauty ingredients. As the creator of Beauty Heroes today, Jeannie brings a lifetime’s worth of ritual, beauty, and wellness to her business and her clients, giving healthy beauty via the thrill of monthly discovery.

January Beauty Heroes Box ( A Value of $111)
This month, the Beauty Heroes box is featuring four full-size products from Bathing Culture, a San Francisco-based company. Their products are carbon neutral, vegan and cruelty-free, biodegradable, and certified organic by Oregon Tilth.
I have tried and loved the Golden Hour Hydrosol, and it has become a regularly repurchased product. So, I was very excited to receive this discovery because I had been wanting to try the newly released haircare and other products such as the body wash and body oil from the brand.
In fact, the day before this box was announced (on the first of every month), the products were in my cart. Coincidentally, Beauty Heroes knew just what I needed.
Let’s take a look at the products:
The Hero Products
Kelp Forest Shampoo ( A Value of $28)
Bathing Culture painstakingly created a rapidly biodegradable Kelp Forest Shampoo, substituting often used polyquaternium, a bioaccumulative component known to help reduce static and frizz, with an aquatic life-friendly synergy.
They did this with clean, pristine water in their line of sight. Vitamin C and omega 3-rich kelp extract provides vital minerals and nutrients that renew the roots, develop growth, and maintain strength. The scent of delicious ocean spray is emitted by seaweed, bay laurel, sweet orange, and clary sage.
Brief Review
The Kelp Forrest shampoo has a very distinct scent from the tropical forest, as the name implies. It smells very refreshing like you are surrounded by a multitude of green foliage with subtle notes of clary sage and sweet orange.
You do not need a lot of product for the product to lather and emulsify. I initially started with about two pumps but have decreased to one and a quarter pumps. For reference, I have fine shoulder-length, highlighted hair, but this shampoo can be used for any hair type even color treated. So, you do have to play around and fine-tune the amount of shampoo you need for your hair type.
I was really impressed with how well this shampoo cleaned my hair without stripping it of its natural oils. My hair felt soft, silky, bouncy, voluminous, and healthy after just one use. I also noticed that it helped to detangle my hair and reduce frizz. If you’re looking for a shampoo that will give you salon-quality results, then you need to try Bathing Culture Kelp Forest Shampoo. Your hair will thank you for it!
Good Seed Conditioner ( A Value of $30)
With this conditioner, which is constructed of biodegradable, cutting-edge plant-based chemistry and extracts from brassica seed, coconut, amaranth, and other plants, you may get moisturized and silky hair thanks to seeds, stems, and blossoms. Nude Beach by Bathing Culture is a scent that is reminiscent of chaparral, flowering magnolias, and sandy, sun-drenched skin.
Brief Review
The Good Seed Conditioner smells so fresh and divine with notes of cypress, and lavender. It is intoxicating and unlike any conditioner, I have used before.
Just like with the shampoo, I used slightly more than I needed but eventually decreased the amount. Once again, you can experiment and figure out what is an optimal amount for you.
I have really dry, frizzy hair, and this conditioner has helped to tame my hair and make it more manageable. It’s also great for detangling. You can even use it as a deep conditioner if you leave it on your hair a little bit longer.
If you’re looking for a good conditioner that will leave your hair feeling soft and silky, you should try Bathing Culture Good Seed Conditioner. I would recommend this conditioner to anyone with dry or damaged hair. Your hair is worth it!
The Sidekicks
Meadow Vision Mind and Body Wash ( A Value of $18)
Discover yourself in the incredibly evocative perfume, which was inspired by a quest for knowledge in a verdant field. High above the coast, geranium, lavender, clary sage, and ylang-ylang flourish. These resilient yet transient blossoms cover the environment only briefly to awaken our senses and elicit awe.
The Hero product ( from a few years ago) from Bathing Culture, Mind and Body Wash, now has a new smell called Meadow Vision. Shea butter, aloe, coconut oil, olive oil, and skin-conditioning glycerine are combined and packaged in 100% recyclable PET bottles.
Brief Review
The Meadow Vision Mind and Body Wash has a vibrant scent that is very earthy. The earthy scent wasn’t something I would normally choose, but with continued use, I have slowly fallen in love with it. It has somewhat expanded my sensory experience, and I am really enjoying using it. It’s perfect for any season.
It lathers up well without using too much product and leaves your skin feeling clean and soft. It will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed. This body wash is formulated with an ultra-hydrating blend of oils and extracts that work to nourish and condition the skin; it also contains rosemary extract, which has been shown to improve circulation, and ingredients like aloe vera and lavender oil, which are known for their soothing and calming properties.
The result is soft, supple, and healthy-looking skin. This body wash is perfect for those who want to pamper their skin with a luxurious and hydrating product. I like to use it in conjunction with this mesh body exfoliator, which I love. Overall, I’m very happy with this body wash and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a natural and gentle option!
Heat Wave Body Oil ( A Value of $35)
The Heat Wave Body Oil is a post-bath barrier shield made of rice bran, fractionated coconut, sunflower, and jojoba oils that swiftly absorb and has warm, luscious notes of magnolia, coconut, and citrus. Avocado oil and arnica work together to lock in moisture and provide all-day radiance because arnica contains the bioactive helenalin compound that relieves muscular stiffness. As bright, cozy, and therapeutic as the sun.
Brief Review
The Heat Wave Body Oil is a lightweight, fast-absorbing oil infused with soothing, and refreshing essential oils, making it the perfect antidote to a cold winter day. The oil has a light, refreshing neutral scent that will leave you feeling warm and cozy. Plus, it smells absolutely amazing!
This body oil is made with a blend of coconut oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, and sunflower seed oil, which help to moisturize and protect your skin. The Bathing Culture Heat Wave Body Oil is perfect for those days when you need a little extra moisture and protection.
I have been using it religiously over the past few weeks and can attest to its efficacy. A little goes a long way, so don’t be shy about applying it generously all over your body. I recommend using it right after the shower on damp skin, as it absorbs very quickly and makes my skin glisten.
So don’t let the cold get you down, reach for Bathing Culture’s Heat Wave Body Oil instead. Trust me, your skin will thank you!
